Awaken your Easter Faith!

Happy Easter to all!  Easter is the most important celebration of the year for Catholics.  Can you feel the joy surrounding you?   Death has been defeated!  God is victorious!  Alleluia indeed!  Alleluia!  The Mass on this great day of celebration is the source of celebration for every Mass that follows throughout the year.  Each time we celebrate Mass we are celebrating the mysteries of Easter, Christ rising from death, and the new life that we have in Christ.

What does this mean to us in our everyday lives?  It means that whenever we encounter sin or death as we live our days that we can meet it with the utmost certainty that it has been defeated by Our Lord’s saving acts.  Although we may experience pain or loss at time is our life we can know with certainty, that in the end Christ has already defeated everything that is not light and life.  Throughout the year the Church reminds us of this great hope that we live in.  The Church teaches us how to look for the light, reject the darkness and live as an Easter people of hope, all year long.

If you have been away from the church for any reason, or if you come to church “part-time,” or even if you attend regularly, but would like to feel a deeper connection, we invite you to take an Awakening Faith Invitation with you today (the white envelopes are in the pews and at the main entrance of the church.)  Look it over and consider attending the first session on Tuesday May 3rd at 7pm.  Bring a friend. You will find there a gentle introduction to the faith in conversation with other adults like yourself in small groups lead by a friendly trained group facilitator.  The Lord is risen, awaken your faith!  Alleluia!
