Because of the fundamental importance of the sacrament a child should be Baptized as soon as possible.
It has been the custom in the Church to give the child a name which reflects one's own Christian faith. Typically, the name of a saint is chosen as the first, middle, or one of the middle names of the child.
Parent(s) of the child to be baptized must be registered at St. Julie Billiart Parish, or receive permission from pastor of their current parish.
The parent(s) must read/view the material posted on this website and then contact the Pastoral Associate to begin the preparation for your child's baptism.
The parent(s) and the godparent(s) are required, to attend a Baptismal Preparation Class. The classes typically take place from 7:00 - 8:00 pm on a week night. Classes are scheduled as the need arises.
Traditionally, an offering is made to the church as a sign of thanksgiving for the blessing God has bestowed on the cild and family and in support of the broader mission of the parish. A typical offering is between $35 - $45.
