Bereavement Ministry

St. Julie’s Bereavement Ministry offers Support Groups for a variety of losses, for example loss of a spouse, child, parent, miscarriage/stillbirth, sibling or friend.  Groups are offered each time for a specific kind of loss so that there is some common experience among those who attend.

Although this is not a social group, many have continued to support each other long after the sessions have ended.  Grieving is an individual journey but it is reassuring to know that you are not alone and that you can eventually remember with less  pain.

The support groups are led by Patricia Cashmore, MSW, LICSW who shares many of the loss experiences of those who attend. She views her role as one of ‘companioning’ others in their healing.  There has been such a positive response to this Ministry among those who have attended!!

Currently, meetings are held twice a year, spring and fall.  The meetings consist of six (6) consecutive sessions held in the evening 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The dates and details of an upcoming session are available in the parish bulletin for three Sundays prior to the first session.

Attendance is limited to ten (10) persons each session. You are welcome to call Pat at any time during the year to ask about the plans for the upcoming session. For information or to register contact telephone Pat Cashmore (508) 971-4191.
