Scripture

The Liturgy of the Word is the part of Mass when we listen as the Lector proclaims the Scriptures.  Before proclaiming the Word of God for the assembly at Mass our Lectors prepare by learning about the style and message of the Scripture for the day.  Proclaiming the Word of God at Mass is in many ways an art.  Here is resource for our Lectors and all proclaimers of the Word of God.

Tradition

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) is an excellent way to connect Catholics with Sacred Tradition.  Promulgated by Pope John Paul II in 1997, it is the first new compendium of Catholic doctrine in more than 400 years.  Click on the image on the right  to read the Catechism online from the website of the United States Council of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

World Peace Day Message 2011 Religious Freedom, the Path to Peace, is the theme of Pope Benedict XVI’s 2011 Message for the World Day of Peace, celebrated on January 1 each year. The Church teaches that religious freedom is grounded in the inherent dignity of the human person. The Holy Father’s message affirms that all people have a duty and a right to seek religious truth and to practice religion in accordance with their conscience. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly of the hierarchy of the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands who jointly exercise certain pastoral functions on behalf of the Christian faithful of the United States. Marriage and Family

For Your Marriage is an initiative of the USCCB in support of marriage.  This website is packed with information on topics from dating and engagement to virtues and obstacles in marriage.  It addresses parenting and family and gives good practical everyday advise of what makes marriage work.  Enjoy this site with someone you love!

Prolife ~ Across the life-cycle

40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program: Prayer and fasting, constant vigil,  and community outreach.  40 Days for Life takes a determined, peaceful approach to showing local communities the consequences of abortion in their own neighborhoods, for their own friends and families. It puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of His plan for the end of abortion in America.
