A parish mission is a special event of preaching which often occurs within the context of liturgical prayer such as Vespers (Evening Prayer) and Eucharistic Adoration, with the increased availability of the Sacrament of Confession. The parish mission usually occurs during a special liturgical season such as Lent in order to greatly urge the people to a more ardent practice of the faith. Its purpose is renewal and conversion.
Our intent is to offer such missions (from the Latin missio meaning “a sending”) at various times annually in order to preach the gospel message boldly so as to send out its listeners into the world as imitators and messengers of Christ.
