The St. Julie’s Ladies Guild is comprised of women parishioners eighteen years of age or older, or the wife of a parishioner, regardless of faith. The Guild has been organized for 51 years, since the foundation of the parish, and follows a set of by-laws and elects officers annually. The Guild coordinates charitable efforts and offers members the opportunity to build community in the parish by gathering together to meet new parishioners or to reacquaint with old friends. General meetings are held on a monthly basis.
The Ladies Guild sponsors a delegate from St. Julie’s Parish to the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and each year and also raises funds to assist the parish with its expenses. Fundraisers include church suppers, garden tours, sweet bread sales, wreath making events, and rummage and jewelry sales. In addition to supporting St. Julie’s Parish, funds raised by the Guild are donated to many charities throughout the year. Some examples are Catholic Charities, Christmas items for families in need in the local community, birthday and holiday celebrations for the residents of local nursing homes and scholarships for graduating high school seniors from St. Julie’s Parish.
Some committees of the Ladies Guild serve the needs of parishioners when they fall ill and assist Guild members if they are unwell or are mourning the loss of a loved one and even attend funerals. Other committees organize interesting speakers to entertain or enlighten our members. Once a year a banquet is planned following elections. Please let us know if you are interested in becoming a member. We would be happy to welcome you to our spiritual family.
